Hello everyone,
Hello Descendants & Contacts, as the "VR Family Tree Research Project" makes its way up to galaxy I decided to try something new! I'm continuously thinking of new ideas and hope you enjoy them as well! I have created this website (blog) so we can keep track of all activities, be in touch and share family histories, stories, ideas and comments with each other which can contribute to the "VR Family Tree Research Project". Many of you are on the Internet & living in many different countries and with this website (blog) we can keep track and communicate much easier and faster with each other. I also created a page on http://www.facebook.com and a new email address vanromondtresearch@gmail.com.Soon everyone will receive an email regarding this.
Please know that the "VR Family Tree Research Project is a dedication to all descendants!
As you may have noticed it has been a while since I last emailed you about the research. As of Monday 15 October 2007 after a short break we will now continue the research and dedicate all the time on the several topics and of course prepare for the our first reunion next year August 2008. Hope to see you there!
Yesterday 15 October and today 16 October 2007 one pile of paperwork has been sort out in categories ( such as collections, literature, reunion) so we can start breaking down these items and make priorities. After this we will tackle a next pile! So as you can see there is a lot that has to be done.
Thanks to Rachel Richardson ( branch Lewis VR) who has volunteered to help Malaki Croes ( branch Otto Lionel VR/branch Granville VR) to start putting the pieces together!
You might be wondering, what is all the work with the research about the family tree! As you know the research is about the history of the ancestors and descendants of the van Romondt family West Indian Branch. With the help of several literature the VR-database was created. In the database each and every ancestor/descendant that we have found so far is listed and have a own page where additional information can be posted.
In the database the West Indian Branch starts with Diederik Johannes van Romondt who came to the island of Sint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles around the year 1800. In the database you will also find all the ancestors of Diederik and will notice that the research starts in 1400.
The database provides information on the ancestors/descendants and you can make connections, view family charts, picture collections and much more.
Besides putting the VR-database together the research is also collecting all information (documents, pictures, literature, notes etc.) on the ancestors and descendants. This part makes the research very interesting. If you have any information materials you wish to contribute to the research please feel free to contact us.
It is our project and together we will achieve this goal!!!
