Uncle Dougie wrote the following poems in the weeks before his sunset. The originals poems are part of the Douglas Sinclair Cannegieter Collection.

"To whom it may concern
Truth has no friends
The first teacher of every child is its mother
An educated, informed, visionary mother will raise a child like herself.
But imprisoned, and uneducated and frustrated mother will raise a myopic, selfish and materialistic child.
It is never too late to corretc the course"

"Every second of every minute of every day, I fall apart little more.
I am going to heaven and in heaven I cannot hurt anyone esle, not even by accident.
Retribution comes to those who wait"

"In peace O God, I shut my eyes,
In peace again I hope to rise,
While I take my nightly rest,
Be with those I love the best,
Guide me in the holy way,
Make me better every day"

"When we understand where we came from and what and who we are, we will understand and comprehend the rest.
There is not such a thing as justice, equality and freedom. Take a look at nature and you will see clearly that nature itself shows you, there is not such thing as equality"
