Research Collections

The research can't be complete if we didn't get the great support from the archives, genealogical sources, your help, our contacts and contributors, library and many other sources.

You might we wondering what we search...... well it is our goal to collect as much information as possible in whatever way on our ancestors and descendants of the VR-family Tree.

The information on birth, death and marriage certificates give us the exact information as registered in the census office. After approximately 50 to 100 years these documents are open for general public at the archives and other genealogical sources and you can view and get a copy of the information requested.

Currently our oldest document is the death certificate of Diederik (Diderik) van Romondt, born 21 May 1676, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and died 03 Dec 1737, Domkerk, Utrecht The Netherlands.

Source:his picture is taken out of the book: `graven en begraven in de Dom van Utrecht` De foto is een olieverfschilderij en foto van Iconografisch Bureau, te Den Haag (The Hague), Nederland. We received this copy form mr. Harry Hardonk of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek in the Netherlands.

Diederik van Romondt was the great grandfather of our fore father Diederik Johannes van Romondt.

Our most recent document is the death certificate of mr. Douglas Sinclair Cannegieter who recently passed away in 2007 at the age of 99. We are very happy that we received a copy from the family of this document since it will be open for general public after 100 years and that will be 2107.... Ooops that's a long time to wait.
