On Tuesday 16 September 2008 the National Archives in Aruba held a seminar titled "the importance of archives". Head of the Archives Mr. Raymond Hernandez opened the evening followed by keynote speakers Mr. Rudy de Cuba (Department of Archives), Mrs. Gisella Geerman (Studyroom) and Mrs. Malaki Zuleika Croes (Hobby Genealogist).

The evening was very interesting and group of about 50 people sat down listening to the importance of archives and couldn't believe the work the Van Romondt West Indian Branch Research Project is doing by putting the family tree together and making it really live!
